GOAL SETTING AND GOAL GETTING; ANY NEXUS? (CONTINUED)

Of course, the money, cars, houses, boats, attractive spouses and powers are all good to enjoy but the ultimate goal goes beyond these material possessions to being a “master” at life. You become a master on a step-by-step basis. To achieve your goals, you would need to become a bigger person, with new skills, attitudes and capabilities. It is this stretching that guarantees mastery and it is in this stretching that the joy of goal setting lies. To achieve your goals, you will have to stretch yourself and in doing so, you would be stretched forever.
Jack Canfield in his book, The Success Principles, (page 56) tells the story of a fire out break which occurred through the scenic hills above Oakland and Berkely, Carlifonia on October 20, 1991. This fire ignited one building every 11 seconds for over ten hours, completely destroying 2, 800 homes and apartments. An author owned everything he owned including an entire library, files full of research as well as a nearly complete manuscript of a book he was writing.

Although he was downcast for a short period of time, he realized one unshakeable truth; Although he had indeed lost  everything to the fire, he did not lose who he had become on the inside; the attitude, skills learnt and self-confidence developed through writing and promoting his books. All that could not be burnt in the fire. He could not lose his mastery -  what he had learnt and become in the process.
You may lose material things (Ensure you do not attract this loss by being cautious about your thoughts), you cannot however lose your mastery.
You are indeed capable. Jesus who turned water to wine, healed the sick and demoniacs, multiplied bread, walked on water, calmed storms, multiplied fishes among many other miracles said : “Greater works than these you shall do because I go unto my father”
In fact, in a town square in Germany stands a statue of Christ, its hands blown off during the intensive bombing of the Second World War. Although the townspeople could have actually made new hands, they left it that way to pass a lesson that “Christ needs no hands but yours – God needs our hands to complete his tasks on the earth. To become masters and do this good work, you will have to be willing to go past your fears and considerations. Goal setting  and goal accomplishment will help you.
